PAINTOGRAPHY

I like to call this style of art "Paintography" because the pictures I used are from photographs that are then digitally enhanced, printed, and then retouched with metallic acrylic paints. Allowing each picture to be Unique and One of a Kind.

This style is inspired by Csaba Marcus' works after I purchased two of his pieces back in 2013 ("Femenita du Paris" & "Woman of the Spring" - although his process of printing is much more complicated and done using a very expensive method called dye sublimation. After that he creates a unique blend of metallic colors and embellishes each piece by hand then destroying the paint after he has finished adding it to the prints he creates thus never being able to create that same blend of color again.

Through his inspiring work I wished to use a similar method of embellishment and create works of my own based on his creative style of expressionism.

I have a vision of what I find beautiful and often struggle with seeing my own value; even though others have come to me and told me that I was an inspiration to them; it's hard to appreciate ourselves in a world that calls self appreciation "vain". This is why I use myself as my own muse and model/feature myself in many of these pieces. Even though these pictures were candid, they show my energy being expressed in various ways allowing my personality to shine through this new style of art.
